Callirhipidae is a family of beetles, found globally in low-latitude regions except for tropical Africa and Madagascar. There are around 175 species in 7 genera. The larvae of this family are wood borers of dead wood and tend to have a long-life span of two years or more. The adults are generally nocturnal, becoming active a couple of hours after sundown.
